 Max. size:  43 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 110 - 1100 m
 Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: endemic to Japan.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  A little-known distinctive deepwater dogfish, biology almost totally unknown. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
