 Family:  Arhynchobatidae (Skates)
 Max. size:  64.2 cm TL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  demersal; depth range 81 - 313 m
 Distribution:  Southeast Pacific and Southwest Atlantic: Valdivia and Estrecho de Magallanes (Chile) to Argentina and the Falkland Islands.
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status:   (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
