A small species with very depressed, wide body; short dorsal fin (3.6-4.1 times in SL); wide mouth; a small area of supraoccipital plate often depressed, slightly granular or without odontodes; exposed part of nuchal plate minute or totally covered by skin; dorsal and fins brownish with numerous small whitish spots, lips and belly yellowish, totally or mostly unpigmented. Dermal plates along dorsal-fin base 6-7. Short interdorsal distance, 5.1-5.5 times in SL. |
Occurs in an area characterized by riffles with predominantly rocky substratum with some gravel and sand. |
