 Family:  Bythitidae (Viviparous brotulas), subfamily: Bythitinae
 Max. size:  5.26 cm SL (male/unsexed)
 Environment:  reef-associated; depth range - 9 m
 Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean: Tasmania, Australia.
 Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 78-79; Anal soft rays: 68-69; Vertebrae: 47-47. This species is distinguished by the following characters: no infraorbital pores; first anal fin ray under dorsal ray 19; lateral line with 53 scale rows; 16 scale rows from anal fin origin to dorsal fin base; 16-17 pectoral fin rays (Ref. 80765).
