 Environment:  bathydemersal; depth range - 1000 m
 Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: Chile (Ref. 27540). Southwest Atlantic: off the mouth of Río de la Plata, Argentina (Ref. 26282) and Uruguay (Ref. 58839).
 Diagnosis:   
 Biology:  Holotype taken from a depth of 1000 m (Ref. 26282). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Produces horny-shelled eggs (Ref. 205).
 IUCN Red List Status: Data deficient  (Ref. 96402)
 Threat to humans:  harmless
