Remarks Early juveniles feed on planktonic crustaceans; older juveniles feed on benthic organisms composed mainly of crustaceans; while adults are typical planktivores which feed primarily on salps, ctenophores, medusae, hyperiideans and euphausiaceans (Ref. 8526, 12048). Daily ration varies during the year between 1.6 to 6.4% body weight, with the maximum in November and minimum in June-July (Ref. 12048).
