Description of culture system |
Ponds were initially applied with CM at 2 tonnes/ha and inorganic fertilizer (16-20-0 NPK) at 50 kg/ha. 16-20-0 was applied at 25 kg/ha every 2 weeks, thereafter. Ponds with milkfish were stocked with prawn juveniles at a rate of 0.8/m2. |

Description of Nutrient input |
No supplementary food was given. The fish were dependent on the production of natural food in the pond. Stomach analysis showed the fish fed on diatoms, bluegreen algae, filamentous algae and some zooplankton. |
